WING CHUN KUNG FU
Wing Chun Kung Fu is a close quarter fighting method originating from southern China. It is widely recognized for its effectiveness. It is a concept based martial art and it is known for its simplicity and directness. It provides a laboratory to study the science of combat. Wing Chun also develops balance, hand eye coordination, strength and flexibility. While all this is happening you gain confidence, learn to control anger, and learn to make quick choices while under pressure.
Wing Chun is a fun exercise and a great way to blow off some steam and get focused for the rest of your day.
Each student works through the program at their own pace. The program is comprised of three empty hand forms, the wooden dummy, and two weapons forms (the long pole and double knives). Most training is the forms and a lot of partner drills designed to train sensitivity and train the nervous system to make effective decisions under stress.

Wing Chun, Ving Chun, Ving Tsun. Different branches of the family spell the name differently. There are many reasons for this. Some have to do with which dialect from China the teacher uses. Some branches use different spelling to differentiate themselves from others. Political lines explain a lot of the differences in spelling. The easiest way to get past these differences is for students to learn the Chinese characters above. They are the name of the style regardless of translation.
